new husband quits his job after only being married for 3 weeks.

by Feeling taken advantage of

I'm pushing 60. Divorced after 30+ yrs in 2012. Moved out of state. Met my now husband in 2015. He had a good paying job. So did I. He proposed 2019. Got married 2021 he quit his job 3 months later.

We have been separated since early 2022 because I don't agree with this. He has already gone thru his 401k. Took additional cash out of his IRA. I don't agree with taking this kind of chance this late in life. Beside the fact I straight up asked him that if we were not married, would he have quit his job. He said no.

Am I the bad guy?

"You gave us counseling without making either one of us feel that you were taking sides.
You always maintained your impartiality with us. You encouraged Rita to be more assertive in stating what she wanted to get from your counseling sessions, as well as what she wanted to get from the relationship.
You taught both of us better communication between ourselves, which lead to an emotional comfort level between us that didn't exist before.
You took control of the direction of the session if things were not moving along.
Thanks so much
for helping us."
