dealing with in-laws...help!!!

by Anonymous

Good day. I would just like to conduct a survey mostly for married couples living on their own.

How often do you or your partner speak and see your family (parents/siblings/ etc)?

My husband can't stop talking to his family almost everyday and keeps going to his moms place almost every weekend. It may not be a big deal for some but even when we would live together before getting married, that's how he has always been. He assured me that things would change once we get married but it hasn't. I don't feel like we're married. It feels more like he's just playing house.

Just asking for some insights. Thanks.

"You gave us counseling without making either one of us feel that you were taking sides.
You always maintained your impartiality with us. You encouraged Rita to be more assertive in stating what she wanted to get from your counseling sessions, as well as what she wanted to get from the relationship.
You taught both of us better communication between ourselves, which lead to an emotional comfort level between us that didn't exist before.
You took control of the direction of the session if things were not moving along.
Thanks so much
for helping us."
