Brooklyn- Aggressive Therapist

by Anonymous

Had A terrible experience with therapist from
Brooklyn NY.

Her general energy was aggressive rather than
helpful.

A lot of insecurity that manifested itself in many ways.

Didn't really understand what we were going through.

Thank you for posting. I saw you didn't include too many details but wanted you to know that an aggressive therapist that makes you feel uncomfortable is not worth seeing again.

Therapy is not a one size fits all solution. I had to go through three extremely horrible therapist/ counselors before finding the right fit. Trust your intuition. If you have a feeling that tells you not to trust someone, you need to follow that and find someone you feel at peace opening up too. Talking to a therapist can always generate some anxiety in the beginning but after a few sessions you feel like your getting something from it. Don't settle for anything but the best when it comes to your mental health and happiness. Best of luck

"You gave us counseling without making either one of us feel that you were taking sides.
You always maintained your impartiality with us. You encouraged Rita to be more assertive in stating what she wanted to get from your counseling sessions, as well as what she wanted to get from the relationship.
You taught both of us better communication between ourselves, which lead to an emotional comfort level between us that didn't exist before.
You took control of the direction of the session if things were not moving along.
Thanks so much
for helping us."
